a5c7b9f00b Robin of Loxsley returns from the holy land, to find Nottingham in pieces under the rule of the new Sheriff. He leads a band of outlaws to fight the Sherrif and help the people of Nottingham, all whilst falling in love again with his ex-finance Marian. After 5 years of fighting in the crusades, Robin returns to England and leads a band of outlaws to outwit the Sheriff of Nottingham. I don't mind historical inaccuracy or updating of shows, but there should be some point to changing around stories and some thought to itwell; this one just alters things, chucks them on the screen and then hopes they will make sense. I have a hard time believing anyone would enjoy this: it's neither action packed, well-written, well-acted (with a couple of exceptions), nor fun to watch.

Robin's 'acting' is appalling and worst of all he has zero charisma: you can't imagine people following him to the nearest tavern for a pint of whatever ale they drank in ye olde Englande, let alone into the woods to live a life of outlawery. Marion has been reduced to a shrew who can only berate Robin while doing little of use due to her dear old dad, who only seems to exist to render her character particularly useless. The only one with charisma is Guy of Gisborne and while I love a good villain, it is a bit of a problem for a show called 'Robin Hood' when Guy is more interesting than Robin.

If they can't write they should at least throw more action on the screen to ensure we don't have to hear their excruciating dialogue. And where did the budget for this show go? The catering van? Because so far it just looks rather cheap. I loved the TV-series! The only thing I didn't like about it is that there never was any blood on the swords/arrows when people were killed. It wasn't very realistic, in real life swords/arrows get blood when someone gets killed with it. The ending could have been different, King Richard could come home and save England instead of Robin Hood getting killed, that would have made the series MUCH better! What happened to happy endings? When a movie/TV-series ends good, it will get much better. Robin was also sort of a player, after Marion got killed he fell in love with two others, in the little time. But his smile was amazing, you can't fall in love with it!
